Grow Your Resilience in Uncertain Times | Lee Eldridge
Failure is not final. It’s just part of the process. I’ve seen situations where people stay away from failure and losing, and this causes greater issues further on down the line.” – Lee Eldridge
BUILDING RESILIENCE INTO YOUR LIFE AND WORK
For many years now, the modern work world has become more demanding than ever: an “always on” culture of peak performance. Then COVID-19 arrived on the scene. With so much uncertainty and loss in the air, resilience is more crucial than ever before. And now that businesses, schools and public facilities are slowly re-opening, nobody knows how the new normal will look. Whatever the future holds, resilience can make the difference between moving forward or losing our way.
This week’s guest, Lee Eldridge (@theathletetribe), is an expert in guiding people to achieve peak performance and high levels of physical and mental resilience. As an accredited strength and conditioning coach, and founder of The Athlete Tribe, Coach Lee works with athletes and business leaders to realise their maximum potential. Throughout his career, he’s coached leading rugby, hockey and football teams, top-ranked tennis and golf players, and individual business leaders seeking an edge, both at work and in life.
Lee believes that “Everyone’s an Athlete”: each one of us has the potential to achieve our optimal performance—whether on the field or in the boardroom—with the right structure, guidance, education and support. Lee’s no-nonsense approach emphasises smart, holistic training to sustain performance over the long term.
In this conversation, we discuss how resilience grows when we consistently show up; how to avoid common pitfalls that can lead to burnout; the critical importance of building recovery and sleep into your routine; and the role of mindset in how we experience success and failure.
